TRANSITIONS is an exhibition project by ANETTE HØJLUND which takes place in LETH & GORI’s studio in Copenhagen. It unfolds as a poetic study of the phenomenon of transition. Through montages of drawing, photography, and various materials, investigations of transitions between inside and outside, between body and space, between the organic and organized, the material and the construction site are performed.
TRANSITIONS will in the first half of the period unfold as a process related project where four panels, mounted on the wall, form the background for image-formations slowly clarified to individual entities. The investigation ends after two weeks; hereafter the panels remain as paused statements for the rest of the exhibition period. During the period LETH & GORI together with ANETTE HØJLUND will host two salons with invited artists whose work in different ways enter into dialogue with the project.
TRANSITIONS relate to the concept of architecture on a metaphorical and everyday-practical way. “Architecture” is seen as an organizing factor – as the concrete walls that define the space – as the way in which we construct the world – as a materiality that is absolutely different from the body – as space creating an atmosphere. The idea of the project is that the body, space, perception and consciousness are always in states of transition, like our exchange with the image and art is.
TRANSITIONS can be seen as a thinking image-organism and a manifestation of how montages of images through the differences and similarities in a sensual way can make complex phenomena accessible for cognition.

TRANSITIONS takes place in LETH & GORI’s exhibition space in the period Monday, April 25 till Friday, May 27. It is carried out by artist, ANETTE HØJLUND, who is employed as an assistant professor at School of Design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, and will be part of her research project, “The density of the image “.
The exhibition space is open Monday to Friday 10-17 or by appointment in the period from 25 April to Friday. 27 May.

@ 17.00 Visual artist and writer ASMUND HAVSTEEN-MIKKELSEN will give an essayistic talk. Based on the French philosopher and phenomenologist, Maurice Merleau-Ponty (1908-1961), and the American architect Louis Kahn (1901-1974), Asmund Havsteen-Mikkelsen will talk about non-philosophy, architecture, the experience of space, sensation and skin.
